Ski touring coaching for beginners: first steps up the mountain

If you want to take your first steps on touring skis - in the truest sense of the word - you are in good hands at the ski touring coaching for beginners on Thursday at the valley station of the Rote 8 gondola in Wagrain. Here, touring professionals show you the necessary basics in terms of technique, material and safety. Of course, under the competent guidance of the ski touring instructors, what you have learned will be put into practice straight away. You will go up from the valley station to the middle station of the Rote 8er, so you will cover 260 metres in altitude during the coaching unit. We can promise you one thing: You'll be really proud of yourself for mastering your first steps so well!

The programme in detail:
- Material Customer Basics - What are the differences?
- How do I put on a touring skin, how does my touring binding work, how does the touring ski boot work.
- Walking training with touring skis along the designated piste ascent route Rote 8er.
- Walking techniques when going uphill at different ascents.
+ Rental of Atomic top touring ski equipment (skis, boots, poles & skins).
+ Touring ski ticket (optional, if no valid ticket is available yet).

Meeting point: valley station Rote 8er / Intersport Wagrain
Time: Thursday, from 13:00 to approx. 15:00 hrs.
End: The coaching will end at the Rote 8er middle station.
It's up to you whether you continue the ascent route, ski down the Rote 8er piste or take the gondola comfortably down to the valley.

Requirements: Basic fitness for 260 metres in altitude. Parallel turns if you plan to ski down the valley. Experience with alpine skis is an advantage.
The coaching is carried out on the designated piste ascent route or in the secured ski area/slope area.
For this reason, no avalanche transceiver equipment is required and the coaching is carried out by an expert ski instructor.
